Petplan Pet Insurance - The Popular Choice For Protecting Your Pet

Article about Petplan by Jay F Gordon

Petplan Pet Insurance
Petplan pet insurance is an American company with over 30 years offering pet insurance plans. They cover over a million pets and claim to be the largest company of their kind. This tells you right away they must have done something right, but with an ever growing amount of companies offering plans this begs the question of whether or not this will be the best fit for you. Read on to hear the full pros and cons of this company.

Petplan offers you three different plans which simplifies things for you based on 30 years of experience and knowing pretty well what people want. I'm not going to cover these plans in detail here, as their site does a good job of this, but just wanted to mention that each one is solid in their own right. So what's impressive about what Petplan offers? There is a 5% online discount and no need to wait for some sort of sale to cash in on that, as well as a 10% multiple pet discount. Hereditary conditions are covered, and as long as you have a properly licensed veterinarian then they also cover alternative therapy.

This is all pretty good news, and basically the most concerning thing that I came across was that they were working on a plan for routine checkups but did not have it functioning yet. According to Petplan they don't want to take the common road with this sort of thing, which is taking the breed and size of your pet then charging what the average vet bill for the first year costs. Usually this ends up catching up with you and costing you more than it would to not have it. While they do have an age limit (8 years for dogs, 10 years for cats) unlike ASDA they will cover your pet after these limits with a higher premium.

So is Petplan Pet Insurance the best choice?

It certainly doesn't sound like a bad choice either way. Trying to find a more ethical route for covering routine care is definitely a smart and respectable thing to do, but it would be wise to note that this information comes from Petplan themselves, and they aren't likely to lose a sale to someone if they know a better solution exists. I would say it is worth the trouble looking around and seeing if you can find a better solution for this one problem, but other than that with its good price and covering for alternative therapies, Petplan pet insurance is an extremely good deal.

It's ESSENTIAL that you learn before you make a costly mistake where to go and what questions to ask when it comes to your beloved pet. How do you know who to trust and who to ask? I've wondered the same things, and felt the confusion that many insurance buyers do. Come look at my guides on pet insurance at my site and let that confusion disappear forever.
